The new online game Minecraft that is bridging a gap between nations

Editor’s Comment, by Dr. Ali Mohammed

New online games are great at bringing the community together. One of the games I have noticed that many of the people in the region around Egypt and the Middle East are playing at the moment is a queer little building block game called Minecraft. It is a funny game where you go about your business of mining the land and the islands around you and using the raw materials to build larger structures. To do all of this you need to play on an online server. Bestminecrafthosts.co has the latest and cheapest Minecraft servers. There are many different areas for you to mine and many different islands. The whole world is randomly generated. It is indeed quite a unique experience, and even though it appears as if it is a classic game from the 90s back when VGA was all the rage, it’s in fact only a few years old, developed independently by a Swedish mob. Now Swedish programmers have always been renowned in our country for their high level of programming expertise and their ability to craft engaging video games. An example of this is Euro-Qbert, I’m sure many of you remember that variation of the classic game of Qbert where the Bert went around his hopping business in a Euro themed zone. Also the game of Tetris was invented by a Russian Programmer. Funnily enough due to the country being non commercialized and disallowing private enterprise, that man whose game was distributed across millions and millions of Gameboys in fact lived as a pauper in the outskirts of Petrograd. So we salute our Russian and Swedish friends, indeed the kings of all things to do with great games!

The current ‘rave’ is all about online games however, and this is the key in bringing the community together. Instead of requiring some kind of weird cumbersome Gameboy cable to link your two units up, online games take advantage of the power of the Internet and TCP/IP connectivity to provide you with an entire world that your friends can participate in. You need a good shared host to provide you with the facility and then up and away you go! Up and at them amigo! Go and do whatever you like, the reason is because you’re renting the server- it’s darn free for you to do what you please, and load whichever plugins you please. This will cheer up the children no end and provide countless hours of pure magic for your family as they engage in a building exercise to rival the construction of the Suez Canal back in the 19th century.

All the best to you during this festive season my friends, I hope the joy and wisdom of the prophet can be in your home this year and I hope to speak soon.

Dr. Ali.

Baluchi people shop at the Chabahar bazaar. Balochistan, or Baluchistan is a province in Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan, the largest in the country by geographical area. It constitutes most of the region of Balochistan and is named after the Baloch people. Its neighbouring regions are Iranian Balochistan to the west, Afghanistan and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas to the north and Punjab and Sindh to the east. To the south is the Arabian Sea. The principal languages in the province are Baluchi, Pashto, Brahui, Sindhi, Hazaragi, and Farsi. The capital and largest city is Quetta. Balochistan is believed to be rich in mineral resources.
